Stage definitions — stage-gated fields are enforced on every write path; backward moves stay free
Guardrails enforced on save: a contract can't reach Contract stage without a rate and start date, or Active routewithout a route — the pipeline board, inline selects, bulk actions, and edit forms all run the same checks. A turnover can't be Scheduled without a scheduled date. Site-visit status is derived from its timestamps, never set directly.
